--SUBMITTED

MINUTES OF THE MEETING 01/02/2000
Following
the outline given in the course syllabus, the group evaluated the
efforts needed for the completion of the first 4 chapters--planned
for February 8th.
The introduction (Bounding) will
require input from each of the team members to come up with:
-
answers to the key question, WHY? (Why the subject is of interest,
why we chose it, etc).
The scope, so far is defined as the 5-year
forecast of WC technology on the global scene. However the group did
not disagree to the addition of 10 year+ analysis/trends in the
report, when deemed necessary.
The introduction was not
assigned to anyone in particular.
The technology description
is handled by Vincent, who felt confident (and showed a four
page draft of his work on part 3). In particular, he asked
members present to come up with ideas relative to :
-the
features/functions it serves.
The group also agreed that part
4, contextual description needed further research. Alex presented her
work on Key influences and constraints on development. The group felt
that the government role in WC technology constituted a difficult
point, but Alex proposed to investigate on the matter.
Ying
proposed to work on the industrial infrastructure, which, in
Vincent's point of view referred to the production processes,
equipment, supply, mass market capacity etc.
At that point,
without apparent link to earlier discussions, Vincent expressed his
wish to include in the report a diagram/prototype of a wearable
computer.
The final point about part 4 involves the
competitive environment/environmental considerations, which can be
understood in a broad marketing sense, will be tackled conjointly by
Valeria and Vincent.
